X-Large Acanthus Leaf cornice moulding from the Mon Reale Collection for the wall-to-ceiling line, milled from kiln-dried Poplar in 8-1/2″ W × 1-1/4″ D. Ships unfinished, ready to paint or stain. Also available in flexible resin for curved and exterior work.

How This Profile Is Made

Mon Reale

Mon Reale mouldings are made by contouring a fine-grain overlay onto solid Poplar, giving a consistent, closed-grain surface that takes paint and stain evenly. They install with standard woodworking tools.

Flexible Resin

The Resin option is cast from the original wood profile, so it carries the same detail and grain pattern and can be stained or painted. It flexes to follow radius walls and arched openings, compensates for framing that isn't true, and will not rot, swell, or deteriorate — rated for interior and exterior use, including bathrooms and sunrooms. The higher price reflects the specialized molding process and the material itself.

Lumber & Machining

All White River Hardwoods hardwood mouldings are milled from clear, kiln-dried hardwood lumber, NHLA graded and dried to 6–8% moisture content. Roughly 65% of the lumber runs 12′ to 16′, which is what lets us produce stock mouldings in overall lengths from 3′ to 16′. Profiles are precision machined on Weinig moulders with Weinig knife tooling.

Poplar takes paint cleanly and stains evenly. Ships unfinished so the finish is yours to choose.

Cuts, copes, and fastens like any hardwood trim. No special blades or adhesives.

Flexible Resin Option

Molded from the original wood model, so it carries the same grain and profile. The flexible resin bends to follow curved walls and out-of-plane framing, won't rot or swell, and is rated for interior and exterior use — bathrooms, sunrooms, and damp locations included.

Installation

Step by Step

Acclimate

Store flat in the room for 48–72 hours before cutting. Poplar milled to 6–8% moisture will move if installed straight off a truck.

Prime Before Install

If painting, prime all faces and cut ends first. Back-priming stops moisture from moving in behind the finish.

Cope Inside Corners

Cope rather than miter inside corners on wood. A coped joint stays tight through seasonal movement; a miter opens.

Fasten Into Framing

Nail or trim-screw into framing every 16″. Glue miters at outside corners.

5

Fill & Sand

Fill nail holes with wood filler, sand flush, and spot-prime before top-coating.

6

Finish

Two coats of trim enamel, or stain and clear-coat. Poplar takes gel stain particularly evenly.

Keep bundles flat and supported until installed. Interior use for Poplar; choose the resin option for damp or exterior locations. Dust with a dry cloth. Finished moulding can be wiped with a barely damp cloth.

Carvings - Enjoy FREE shipping via FedEx on all carvings within the 48 contiguous United States - exclusions apply for Trade Orders.

Radius Corners - Shipping costs are determined by the destination, starting at a minimum of $45. Should the freight charges surpass $45, you'll receive a separate quote via email once your order is placed.

Composition and Plaster Products: Shipping Charges are 15% of the total sale. These products are custom and non-returnable.

Plaster Medallions: Shipping Charges are 15% of the total sale and a $75 Crate Fee. These products are custom and non-returnable.

Urethane, Acoustic and Tambour Panels: Shipping Charges are 10% of the total sale. Shipping Charges or a minimum of $25.

White River Poplar Mouldings - Shipping fees are based on the destination, with a $45 minimum charge. For LTL (less-than-truckload) orders, you'll be sent a separate quote through email. Due to FedEx Policy, products 96’’ [8’] & longer are subject to ground freight + additional l $45.00 /ea pkg. Unless notified, WR will trim all mouldings to 95". If you require 96" [8’] & are willing to pay the upcharge add a note to your order.

Global Deliveries - We are pleased to offer worldwide delivery for our online orders. However, please note that certain products, particularly larger items or those containing fuel or hazardous substances, may not be eligible for international shipping. To ensure compatibility, kindly review the product and shipping details while browsing. If your destination is not available during checkout, we are unable to deliver to your location.

International Shipping Rates: A minimum charge of 30% of the order applies to shipping fees. In the unlikely event that shipping and handling expenses surpass the indicated amount, we will promptly inform you.

Products cannot be returned without prior approval and must have a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number. Under the following circumstances, products may not be returned for credit:

  1. Are marked on
  2. Are modified in any way
  3. Have been exposed to excessive sun or moisture
  4. Have sheetrock mud, primer, stain, "job site damage"
  5. Returned 60 days after invoice purchase date

Returns are F.O.B. Buyer and are subject to a 20% restocking charge. To receive credit for stock products, product must be received in re-sellable condition. Custom mouldings and custom woodcarvings are not returnable under any circumstances. If returned products are received damaged due to poor repackaging, no credit will be processed. It is imperative that items are not returned in their original packaging without a thorough inspection as more fill may be needed to boxes of carvings or additional wrapping for mouldings may be necessary to prevent return shipment damage. Please call  1-800-558-0119 and speak to our Customer Service Representative to request an RGA.
