About the Artist:
Richard Ransier holds a BFA and a Masters from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.
Richard has worked on projects from Warner Brothers Studio, Walt Disney Studios, DreamWorks, NBC, ABC, Visa, Coca Cola, and Hard Rock Casino. With all of Richard's visual art experience throughout his career, painting has been a natural form of expression for him. Over the past 10 years, Richard has been building a fine art legacy around the country and internationally.
Richard believes conceptual vocabulary in the commercial world is a very controlled and mapped-out process once a concept is approved. Painting is a prolonged and precise art. It doesn’t travel with the speed of light like photography, so he became a painter.
Guns for Art Project:
Guns for Art- A community improvement project using destroyed guns taken from the streets by law enforcement, and turning them into art for a book to raise money for low-income school’s art programs. The art is not built around anti-gun or pro-gun viewpoints; it creates powerful images to open up a dialogue about this subject in America. The goal is to transform guns taken from the streets into something of value for the community.
The Guns For Art project is currently up for a Guggenheim Fellowship for 2021.
