About the Artist:

Richard Ransier holds a BFA and a Masters from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. He started his fine art career studying with Allen Dutton in Phoenix, Arizona. According to Richard, “Allen was a true Renaissance Man—he was an accomplished life photographer, photo illustrator, experimental filmmaker, and fine art painter and I would not be the artist I am today, without him mentoring me.

Richard was selected to be one of fifty photographers in the world to be a part of Hasselblad Camera's 50th-anniversary show that exhibited worldwide. Four of his images are in their permanent collection.

Guns for Art Project:

Richard Ransier was presented with the opportunity to retrieve a collection of guns that were taken off the streets of Los Angeles by law enforcement that was slated to be melted down for scrap metal. He had an idea to use these guns to create art for a book in order to raise money for low-income school’s art programs. To preview this book click here.
